Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate?

All university students and pre-university students from involved universities can participate.

Why is my university not on the list?

We are actively collaborating with public and private universities across Malaysia. However, this is a long-term initiative. If you would like your university to participate in this, you can suggest to us by emailing us at hello@myphilsoc.com!

How long are the Campus Takeover activities?

They generally range from a few hours to half a day, depending on the agreement with each university.

Do I get points for participating?

Yes, we always aim to push for CPD points for participating students. However (though on rare cases), CPD points are not offered due to administrative restrictions with universities.

Do you host programmes at universities outside of Klang Valley?

Our Campus Takeover initiatives begin from Klang Valley, and we are working towards expanding them to outside of Klang Valley to the whole of Malaysia!

Why should I join?

Philosophy is highly under appreciated in Malaysia, and only very few universities across Malaysia offer philosophy courses/modules. This is a great opportunity to get yourself exposed to Philosophy, and have fun while doing so! At the same time, you will also learn highly sought after higher level thinking skills such as critical thinking, analytical thinking, creativity, leadership, and more!

Who should I contact if I’d like to start a Philosophy club at my university?

Good news – the Malaysian Philosophy Society is here to support you! We have dedicated consultants within the team to guide you through the process based on our experience and insider insights. Just drop us an email at hello@myphilsoc.com and we will reach out to you shortly!

How do I stay connected after the Campus Takeover activities?

You can stay connected with us through our social media channels IG/FB @myphilsoc and LI @Malaysian Philosophy Society, or our free membership https://forms.gle/ZtfVansMDHdpmZZj8 to receive updates to our upcoming events and programmes!
