Forget your usual go-to OOTD, or “fashion rules”. Come as you are, not as the algorithm (or society) wants you to be.
No approval required. Just wear YOU—and let that be your loudest statement.
*Cash prizes will be awarded to the “Most Non-conforming Dressed Person”!
Have something honest and genuine to tell? Or a piece of creative work you’re dying too shy to share with the world?
Step up, grab the mic in this no-BS zone, as we get existential without the academic fluff and ego trip.
Malaysia’s first ever philosophy escape room where you solve puzzles with friends & strangers inspired by big questions: freedom, purpose, and the meaning of work.
This is unlike any other escape room you have participated in! To “escape,” you’ll need more than logic; you’ll need curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to think differently.
Love expressing yourself creatively?
This is unlike any jam session you have participated in, this one involves a live band, music creation, and lots of thinking outside the box!
Happily ever after? Growing old with your one true love and 2 kids? Who decided that is the only version of love that counts?
From polyamory and Dual Income No Kids (DINK) to solo joy, this panel invites us to rethink how can we love better beyond the script.
Speakers: Dr. Johnben Loy, Pioneer of marriage and family therapy in Malaysia; Danniel Iskandar, entertainment entrepreneur, open relationship advocate. More to come!
“Man up.” “Be more gentle, you’re a girl.” Sounds familiar? These gender rules have caused emotional constipation in men, and oppression in women. Enough.
Join us at this panel where we tear down the pink-and-blue playbook and build relationships beyond toxic gender expectations.
Speakers: Andrea Koh, Sexologist and professional counsellor. More to come!
Rise and grind—or lie flat and let it all burn? Somewhere between toxic hustle and nihilistic surrender, there’s a better way.
Step into our unique human spectrogram to explore alternatives to finding work-life balance, while engaging with audience from employees and freelancers to C suite executives from diverse industries.
What if marriage didn’t matter? What if we ditched capitalism, worshipped naps, and built communities around friendship?
This lab is your chance to experience alternatives realities where norms are different and rules don’t apply.
Reflect and Recharge:
Speed Therapy Corner
Got no capacity and time for therapy? No problem.
Here is your chance to be stripped down and radically honest with another therapist and human being.
Do this, not that. Our lives are filled with scripts that define us. But which of them actually matter? And which are used to keep the society oppressed?
Visualise the user-generated norms that have shaped us, and rewrite the script of your own life.
What’s something that is stopping you from facing who you want to be? We spend most of our lives faking fine.
But here, in this no-BS safe zone, you confront your inner demons and fear that hold you back from realizing a more authentic version of yourself.
Dear Boss/Colleague: Office Confession
Tired of the unpoken taboos at your workplcace?
Whether you are frustrated, grateful, or simply have something you’d like to say to your boss or colleague but never had the appropriate occasion to tell them face to face, this is your chance to speak your truth.
Confess anonymously to share your unspoken thoughts, inner frustrations, or express gratitude.
“Bila nak anak?” (When are you going to have kids?) A common (unavoidable) question we get asked in family gatherings.
Whether you’re proudly child-free, on the fence, or parenting like a boss, this speed philosophizing session allows you to dive into the beautiful and perhaps not-so-beautiful side of procreation and parenthood.
Would you break the rules or uphold established customs in life, marriage, friendship and at work?
Step into this card game booth where you venture into territories you rarely do with your significant other or friends, and learn about the sides of them they don’t usually reveal.
This isn’t your average marketplace.
From civil societies challenging the status quo and sustainable food vendors to quirky artisans, this is a one-of-a-kind bazaar in Malaysia that brings wild and wonderful ideas to life!

Live Love Labour is a biennial philosophy-art-lifestyle festival in Malaysia that celebrates living, loving and labouring more meaningfully in the modern world. This year we are exploring the theme “Opting Out of Bullshit Norms”, inviting participants to rethink norms and expectations that have shaped their lives and relationships.
The festival is scheduled to take place on the 1st of November, 2025, from 10 am to 7 pm, at Me.reka Makerspace Publika KL.
The festival features a mix of talks, panel discussions workshops, activities, booths and pop-up stores, covering a wide range of norms related to career, marriage, parenthood, gender rules, work-life balance, family traditions, and more. Participants can engage in talks with renowned local and international speakers, participate in interactive and experiential workshops, check out vibrant booths, and network with like-minded individuals.
The festival is open to everyone who are interested in exploring events beyond traditional marketplaces and bazaars. It is a unique fusion of reflection, art and lifestyle involving existential talks, reflection booths, creative workshops, pop-up stalls, and more! It welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds, professions, and age groups.
Unfortunately this year’s festival is a fully physical event due to the high amount of in-person workshops, booths and activities, to maximize the in-person shared experience and sense of community.
Yes you can. The event is a hybrid event where certain talks and workshops will be livestreamed to allow participants outside of the vicinity of Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia to participate online.
Yes you can. However, we highly encourage interested participants to stay for the whole day to allow the learnings of the festival to take effect in your everyday life, work and relationships.
